Oil has been used as a facial cleanser for centuries, with this deep cleansing method having quite a cult following today.
The widely-held belief that oil should not be used to cleanse your face - especially if you have blemished skin - is a myth which has ltitle founding. Oil actually dissolves oil, with cleansing oil being one of the best way to clean dirt, impurities and excess oil from the skin (water does not dissolve oil).
Castor oil is an extremely good natural cleanser whilst olive and jojoba oil also help remove dirt and impurities without upsetting the natural oil balance of your skin.
Harsh cleansers can contribute to acne and other skin problems due to the chemicals and fragrances they contain. Because these harsh chemicals strip away natural oils, your skin becomes dry and over compensates by producing more oil. Which means more blemishes. It is a vicious (and often costly) cycle.
Our Nourishing Cleansing Oil will help to gently unblock pores without drying out your skin. We have formulated two separate blends - for normal to dry and oily skin respectively (oily skin preparation has more castor oil and less jojoba and olive). We include tea tree essential oil in both blends for it's anti-bacterial properties.
Excellent results have been achieved on teenagers with blemished/acne prone skin.
TO USE:
- Massage a small amount of Nourishing Cleansing Oil into your face for approx. 2-3 minutes.
- Wring out a face cloth in hot water, place it over your face to 'steam' it for 30 seconds. (Alternatively, if you have more time, fill a bowl with boiling water, place your face 30cam away from the bowl and 'steam' it for a couple of minutes). This will help open your pores.
- Remove face cloth and massage oils in again for another 30 seconds.
- Wipe the oils, together with dirt and impurities from your face with a clean washer.
- If you have extremely dry skin, you can follow up with a moisturiser if desired.
This deep cleansing method can be used 1-3 times per week. Your skin will feel baby-soft and refreshed afterward.
